Wednesday, January 27Second Wednesday night chalice group gathering (maybe we need to come up with a more original name), 7:00 pm, Fellowship House.  We do expect members of the circle to commit to come to as many gatherings as possible, but if the first meeting was the night you couldn’t make it, don’t let that keep you from joining.  Copies of the reading for the “Forgiveness” gathering are available at the Fellowship House.

Thursday, January 28 – (NOTICE THE DATE CHANGE) Eclectic Readers meets at the home of Ellen Strommen to discuss Descartes’ Bones by Russell Shorto.  According to Random House, “The great controversy Descartes ignited continues to our era: where Islamic terrorists spurn the modern world and pine for a culture based on unquestioning faith; where scientists write bestsellers that passionately make the case for atheism; where others struggle to find a balance between faith and reason.   Descartes’ Bones is a historical detective story about the creation of the modern mind, with twists and turns leading up to the present day—to the science museum in Paris where the philosopher’s skull now resides and to the church a few kilometers away where, not long ago, a philosopher-priest said a mass for his bones.”

Sunday, January 31Second Sunday Chalice Circle Gathering following the services.  The Gathering will start at approximately 12:00.

Fridays, January and February, lunch with the Chair – Please share your ideas, hopes, complaints, suggestions, about the Fellowship.  What would be a good time for you to meet in a small group with the chair?  Please arrange a date with Mary – This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Saturday, February 6Blue Mountain Clinic presents Off the Rack 3rd Annual Benefit Fashion Event, 8:30 pm, Wilma Theatre.  For more information contact Anita Kuennen at 721-1646 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Missoula’s hottest fashion show will include a runway show of tasteful, wearable art made of condoms and other materials representing our theme of healthy sexuality.

Local TV personality Mark Heyka and Blue Mountain Clinic’s Bernie Kneefe are emcees for this year’s event again. Show tickets are $20 and now on sale at Blue Mountain Clinic, The Green Light, and on-line at www.bluemountainclinic.org

Off the Rack was created in 2008 as a forum to start a community dialogue about healthy sexuality.  We sought to bring down barriers to gender and stigma and get people talking about what can be a taboo topic.

This year’s show, Blue Mountain Clinic’s third annual benefit fashion event, will

feature special guest performances by Missoula-based Downtown Dance Collective, local bands Butter and Tractor Jack and the Muddy Spuds.

And we’ll have some special local celebrities including Mayor John Engen and former mayor Mike Kadas hitting the runway in some racy artwork to help us keep the conversation about healthy sexuality going.

"In a world that's much more complicated than it was when I was a young adult, I appreciate the work of Blue Mountain Clinic in addressing reproductive issues” said Mayor Engen. “Teen pregnancy and sexually-transmitted diseases are tough issues, but without the courageous work of Blue Mountain and others, we'd have a terrible time trying to address them in our community."
